I’m amazed at how HNNY was able to take an already melancholy and chill electronica track and re-work it to have the same genre and feel of the original but an altogether different (and better) sound at the same time. It’s subtle and super crafty work, my hat is off. Check it out here.
A really cool new track from NYC based Penguin Prison (Chris Glover). Known mostly for his remixes, I think he’s got some serious credentials in the original track department as well. I guess I’d describe the music as indie-dance or maybe electro-pop. Anyway that you want to describe it, listen more with your own copy here.
Something about this song just struck a chord with me the first time I heard it. Since the first play it keeps getting better with each listen. It’s when that minimal beat and sawtooth bass-line come in at the start of the first verse…it just grabs you. Grab your own here and proceed to repeated listens.
Certainly not a hidden gem or anything of that sort, but I do enjoy this track. Kind of pop, certainly some rock, and even a sort of hip hop vibe to the verse as well. All over the place Mr. Sheeran. Grab it here.
I actually heard the acoustic version of “How You Love Me” first, which I’m happy about, because I may have dismissed the track initially otherwise. Regardless, I’ve respected 3LAU for years for his beautiful mashups and I’m happy this St. Louis dj is gaining ground doing original productions these days, despite the fact that they are not really my favorite genre: electro house/pop. Despite that, I do respect his production skills and the way he’s risen from mashup artist to respected producer/dj in his own right. The acoustic version of his recent electro/house track shows the dynamic abilities of this up-and-coming artist to the dance scene. Grab the acoustic version here, and the original here. I hope you enjoy playing the two tracks after each other and seeing the vast production skill that went into the creation of this dance hit.
It’s a bit progressive and pop, but that’s my roots into house so I have a special place in my heart for this sort of stuff. A little poppy for most types of house I like these days, but I can’t deny my enjoyment of this gem. Great house bass line, check it out. Grab it free with an admission of some details…
I’m a big fan of the last Matoma Biggie track. If you liked that, he created this in a similar vein. A lighthearted old school hip hop remix. Grab it free here.
I’m a big fan of this deep house tune. It has that rare ability to work both as a chill track as well as in the club. Not entirely sure how that can happen. Grab the full song here.
