Classic. You may not recognize the name, but once you hear it, you’ll wonder where it had been all your life.
Andhim & Super Flu – Reeves
A really simple house track here that just nicely exudes a summer fun vibe but keeping things as minimal as possible. Really nice and low key for a dance track.
St. Lucia – Elevate
A lot of remixes of this song, but I still love the original the most. Not an easy fit for a genre, and that’s what I like about it. Pop? Indie Dance? Rock? You decide.
Kid Cudi – Up, Up And Away
A fun little ditty by Kid Cudi. Not sure how I missed it initially, but I’m glad I found it now. A summer vibe for sure.
Rihanna – Stay (Branchez Remix)
A captivating re-work here. The vocals are just so damn catchy and intriguing. Enjoying this one.
Calvin Harris – Pray To God feat. HAIM
I really don’t think I need to tell you who Calvin Harris or even relative newcomer HAIM is. I will say that this collaboration is the most impressive track off Calvin Harris’s new album. The verses represent a guitar driven HAIM while the chorus has a distinct Calvin Harris piano and synth pop/dance arrangement. With each artist representing their own “sound” the song blends the two together perfectly. A crafty bit of songwriting on this one. Enjoy.
ODESZA – All We Need (Autograf Remix)
Ooh. A really nice remix here from Autograf. How he maintains the pop sensibility alongside the heavy bass lines has always left me in awe.
Orange Caramel – My Copycat
Grab it free here.
Phoebe Killdeer – Fade Out Lines (The Avener Re-work)
So subtle and so good! A couple little elements like a basic sine wave bass synth coming in around 2:16 and a hi hat at 2:33 I go nuts. I love songs that can floor me with the addition of simplistic elements. Minimalism done right. I love it. This song gets better and better with each listen.
