There really wasn’t too much Nora En Pure needed to do here to make this perfect. It was soo close on the initial release. Just a bit too long and a bit too dramatic as a dance track. All Nora En Pure did was edit it a bit, keep it upbeat and tag their name on. Simple work for a brilliant finish. Honestly, try and not be in a better mood when this song is done.
Joris – Herz uber Kopf
Honestly no idea what he’s saying, but when a whole group of Germans are dancing and singing along, it’s hard to not appreciate it. On subsequent listens, while I still have no idea what is being said, I can appreciate it for everything else it does well as a quality pop/rock track.
One Ok Rock – Live at Yokohama Stadium
I just randomly stumbled across this band and one of their live shows in 2014. I had never heard of them before, and I subsequently watched the whole show…captivated. A really solid rock band all around with a great performance and energy. If you like what you see, check out the songs: “Decision”, “Nothing Helps”, “Answer Is Near,” and “The Beginning.” My four favorites thus far. Considering their main influences are Linkin Park, The Used, Nirvana and Blink 182, I’m not surprised that I like what I hear.
Rudimental – Rumour Mill
These guys can do no wrong lately. They are just killing it with every music direction and genre they turn towards. This is a house/indie-dance/pop/RnB track that just hit the slow dance movement on it’s head. I keep hitting repeat on this one as I keep finding new subtle gems on each listen. Picture yourself dancing to this at a house party with a new girl or guy and having a raucous good time. That’s the image I’m seeing right now.
Japanese Wallpaper – Forces feat Airling
It was the vocals that got me. It wasn’t dancy which is my usual capture, but the vocals and subtle background are just a perfect match. I’m hooked.
The Wombats – Give Me A Try
Whoa. Welcome Back Indie British Rock! Well, maybe it never really left, but there definitely seemed to be a let down lately. No longer the case. This is a tune! Enjoy!
The Blanks – Hey Ya!
I always liked the scene of the janitor’s wedding in the show Scrubs purely for the sentimental acoustic version of the Outkast classic by the character Ted. It not only fit the scene perfectly, but more than that, it was a genius and unique reinterpretation of the original. I always wanted a good version of it, and despite not finding it at the time, his in-the-show and real life acapella band did eventually release a similar version to match demand. Time to reminisce…
Anderson .Paak – Am I Wrong (Feat. Schoolboy Q)
Oh boy what a good tune. Such a good throwback to funky summer hip hop anthems of the past. I haven’t heard such a solid upbeat and danceable hiphop jam in quite some time. Jus try and not move when you hear this gem. Yeeeow!
Adele – Hello (High Contrast Bootleg Remix)
Ooh boy. This is a good one. It’s not heavy or too fast. It sits oh so neatly on top of Adele’s vocals. Looking forward to playing this a lot!
Vario Volinski feat. Erik Hassle – Falling In Love Again
I love this song and I’m entirely sure why. Everything just…works. The vocals, the marimba, the classic house beat and house piano stabs. Okay, I guess I’m starting to get it.
